The last step of the Murmur Method is the Decide round, where participants either consent or object to a proposal. Participants don’t evaluate a proposal on whether it’s perfect — only whether it’s safe-to-try.
As a participant, consenting means that you believe the proposal is safe-to-try as written and that you will do your part to uphold the proposal once it becomes an active agreement. It doesn’t mean you have to love everything about the agreement, just that you think it’s worth trying out.
The goal is to experiment, see what works and what doesn’t, and learn what needs to change to make the agreement even more successful in the future. Remember that agreements expire, meaning Murmur has a built-in mechanism that invites you to improve agreements after your team has given them a chance to live and breathe for a while.
