One of the best ways to get started with Murmur is to send one of your team’s existing agreements through the Murmur Method. The process for doing so is simple:
- Select one of your team’s agreements that you think needs a bit of freshening up.
- Go to your Murmur workspace and click “New Agreement”.
- Copy and paste your existing agreement into your draft in Murmur. (Just make sure you include a title, subtitle, and body before you propose it to your team.)
This approach is helpful for a few reasons:
- It means you don’t have to start from scratch! The blank page is scary. Fill it with something you already have.
- As a proposer, it gives you the opportunity to look at an agreement with fresh eyes, make improvements, and re-propose it to your teammates, who then share that fresh-eyed opportunity to contribute to a new iteration.
- It helps you get the hang of the Murmur Method more quickly than trying to spin up a new agreement from scratch. Using material you and the rest of the team are already familiar with helps you focus on the process of improvement, rather than getting stuck trying to make sense of completely new ideas.
